Marian Walker passed away peacefully in the early morning of November 2, 2024. Finally released from so much worldly pain, hopefully she is now reunited with all the family and loved ones that have transitioned before her.
Thanks everyone for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers for Mom, me, and Allan throughout this challenging 16 months. Your support has really, truly been appreciated by all of us.
A celebration of Marian's life was held November 9, 2024 at the Davis Funeral Home in Wilmington, NC. Interment followed immediately afterward at the Piney Grove Community Cemetery in Bolivia, NC.

Mom had no life/burial insurance and little income after she entered the funeral home. And of course, I haven't worked since starting to take care of Mom back in July 2023.

In late June 2023 Mom was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer on top of emphysema/COPD. From July 2023 through November 2024 I split my time between New York and North Carolina to help her through chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and a range of other conditions including a mini-stroke. I chose to be unemployed during this period to give my undivided attention to the situation.
